The Wyze impressed us with it's exceptional performance on hard floors, scoring high for pet hair and hard debris pick-up. It also gave us speedy mapping, which comes in handy, a user-friendly app and useful features such as a location-based trigger.
With some 2-in-1 robovacs, the mopping is a bit of an afterthought, but the Eufy X10 Pro Omni has rotating pads that press down for a more thorough clean on hard floors. On test, it had no trouble at all cleaning a dried-on sugary drink and sticky sauce, automatically choosing the right amount of water for the job.
So, ideally you will still want to run your regular vacuum every so often, while the robot vacuum helps keep dust down in the interim. By keeping on top of the light debris, you won’t need to use your full-sized vacuum so often.
It can be controlled through its own app, as well as through Alexa & Google Home voice commands, giving you complete control of your clean.
The multipurpose cleaning tool can cut and pull the hair around the roller (Make sure the bottom switch is on before charging or working.)
Self-emptying robots take up significantly more space on your floors than the smaller charging bases of manually emptied robot vacuums, but they make for a more hands-free cleaning experience. These bases can often go weeks without having to be emptied and for models that mop too, many have a water tank inside big enough to hold multiple cleaning sessions worth of water for your robot.
Although this does mean it will likely require more clearance space and will protrude further out from the wall as well. Make sure you have a space in mind for your robot vacuum’s dock before you make a purchase, otherwise you might have to move some furniture around.
Robot vacuums now offer some pretty impressive features. One feature we think is extremely helpful in any home is a mapping capability that helps guide the robot through your home instead of just bumping into furniture as it goes along.
If you just want something that's shallow in profile for getting beneath furniture, look for a robovac without a raised central puck. This puck is generally used for robot vacuum navigation, but there are options that use different approaches – including all Roomba models, and some of Roborock's newest Top 3 Automatic Vacuum Cleaners bots like the Qrevo Slim and Roborock Saros 10R (both of which we rate very highly).

Most robot vac apps allow you to set up virtual barriers to block off entire rooms or just small sections of a room. Homes with lots of areas to avoid (like kids’ playpens or dog beds and bowls) would benefit from pelo-go zone settings in the app.
The Dyson 360 Vis Nav almost has it all: immense suction, excellent edge cleaning, and a great design. Plus it's packed with all sorts of features, such as disc brakes and a remote electronic lock. However, it's expensive and lacks a self-emptying option which makes it more hands-on.
The T30s did very well on our cleaning tests, earning an average score of 93%; while that isn't tops among the best robot vacuums, that's still very good.
We've tested many robot vacuums at Tom's Guide. While most perform great, they aren't as easy to recommend for everyone.
